Pubs with Rooms is built by someone who takes these trips with his own dog — built town by town, properly, rather than launched region-wide and thin.

Why not just another list

Every existing directory shows a single "dog friendly" badge. It doesn't tell you whether your dog can sit with you at dinner, whether you can leave it in the room while you eat, or whether the kitchen's even open the night you want to stay. Those are the details that actually decide whether a trip works — so we record them properly, per pub, instead of a badge.

How the data is gathered

Records start from research — pub websites, published policies, and reviews — then get corrected as we visit places, call pubs directly, or hear from owners. Every dog-policy and food record carries one of three states:

• Confirmed with the pub — checked directly, or seen in person.
• From published sources — researched from the pub's own website, a published policy document, or reviews, but not yet confirmed directly.
• Not yet researched — we don't have an answer. We say so rather than guess, because a wrong answer here can ruin someone's weekend.

We show every pub we know of, including the ones we haven't verified yet — a town page missing half its pubs is less useful than one that's honest about what it doesn't know yet.

Affiliate disclosure

Some links to booking sites are affiliate links, and we may earn a small commission if you book through them, at no extra cost to you. Where a pub isn't bookable through a major booking site, we link directly to the pub's own site instead, even though that earns us nothing — a complete, honest listing matters more than short-term revenue. Which pubs appear, and how prominently, is never affected by whether a link earns commission.
