Pubs with Rooms is built by someone who takes these trips with his own dog — built town by town, properly, rather than launched region-wide and thin.

Why not just another list

Most directories show a single "dog friendly" badge. It doesn't tell you whether dogs can sit with you at dinner, whether they can stay in the room while you eat, or whether the kitchen's even open the night you want to stay — and if you'd rather not share with dogs at all, it tells you nothing. Those are the details that actually decide whether a stay works, so we record them properly, per pub, instead of a badge.

How the data is gathered

Records start from desk research — pub websites, published policies, and reviews — then get corrected as owners get in touch and we check further. Every dog-policy and food record carries one of three states:

• Confirmed with the pub — checked directly, or seen in person.
• From published sources — researched from the pub's own website, a published policy document, or reviews, but not yet confirmed directly.
• Not yet researched — we don't have an answer. We say so rather than guess, because a wrong answer here can ruin someone's weekend.

We show every pub we know of, including the ones we haven't verified yet — a town page missing half its pubs is less useful than one that's honest about what it doesn't know yet.

Accuracy, and why you should still double-check

Everything on this site is informational — a starting point for your own booking decision, not a guarantee. Pub policies, prices, opening hours and kitchen days change, sometimes without the pub updating its own website, and ownership itself changes hands more often than you'd think. A "Confirmed with the pub" tag means we checked and got a direct answer as of the date shown on that page — it is not a promise that the answer is still true today.

Please confirm anything that actually matters to your trip — the dog policy, kitchen days, parking, price — directly with the pub before you book, and definitely before you travel. We can't accept responsibility for losses, wasted trips, or charges arising from information on this site that turns out to be outdated, incomplete, or wrong, whatever its confidence tag says. If you spot something that's changed, we'd genuinely like to know — it helps everyone after you.

Where a pub isn't bookable through a major booking site, we link directly to the pub's own site instead, even though that earns us nothing — a complete, honest listing matters more than short-term revenue. Which pubs appear, and how prominently, is never affected by whether a link earns commission.
