Norwich is a medieval cathedral city with a cobbled old quarter, a castle on a hill and a market in the centre. Genuine pubs with rooms are harder to find than the hotel count suggests, so this page is short and deliberately selective — three pubs, each of which a pint can be had in whether or not you’re staying.
Rooms at the Rosebery, in the NR3 area north of the centre, is a Victorian pub with four en-suite double rooms and a continental breakfast hamper in the room price. The Red Lion at Eaton, on the southern edge of the city, has six rooms — three of them in a self-contained stable annexe — and a daily-changing menu with seafood and char-grilled steaks. The Kings Head at Bawburgh, about six miles west, is a 17th-century gastropub with six boutique rooms and two AA Rosettes, closed on Mondays.
Dog policies here are patchy. The Red Lion is clear that dogs are welcome in the bar and restaurant, and the Rosebery and the Kings Head haven’t published one that we can find — we’ve marked them unknown. If you’re bringing a dog and want certainty, the Red Lion is the safest bet for a table; for bedrooms, ring any of the three.
Not in Norwich itself, but close enough to stay — the town's shops, pubs and sights are only a short trip in from any of these.

Dogs aren't allowed in the restaurant at dinner, but are welcome in the bar — worth asking if food's served there if you want to eat together.
