Pub details last checked October 2026.

Hebden Bridge sits at the bottom of a deep Pennine valley, where the Rochdale Canal, the River Calder and Hebden Water all meet, and the old mill buildings climb the hillsides on either side. It’s compact, independent-shop-heavy and extremely walkable, and the moors above — Heptonstall, Hardcastle Crags, the Calderdale Way — are close enough that most visitors do a bit of both.

The honest picture for pubs with rooms is a small one. In the town itself there’s the White Lion, a 1657 coaching inn on Bridge Gate with 14 rooms. Beyond that you’re looking at village pubs: the Cross Inn, a 1617 pub at the top of the hill in Heptonstall, and the Dusty Miller at Mytholmroyd, a short train hop east along the valley. We’ve listed all three, and been upfront where we couldn’t confirm a dog or food detail — particularly for the two village pubs, where the information is thinner.

You don’t need a car to get here: Hebden Bridge station is in the town on the Calder Valley line, and the White Lion is a short walk from it. The Dusty Miller is almost next to Mytholmroyd station; the Cross Inn is a steep walk or a short bus ride up to Heptonstall.

Questions people ask about Hebden Bridge

Which pubs with rooms in Hebden Bridge have parking?
It depends which pub. The White Lion, in the town centre on Bridge Gate, has a free car park for restaurant and hotel guests — and says that when it's full, the nearest pay-and-display options are Market Place, Garden Street and St Pol Square. The Dusty Miller in Mytholmroyd is listed with on-site parking. The Cross Inn in Heptonstall has none of its own: the village asks visitors to leave cars at Heptonstall Bowling Club, a short walk away, rather than park on the narrow streets.
What counts as a "pub with rooms" in Hebden Bridge?
A bar you could walk into for a pint, with rooms attached. That gives us the White Lion in the town itself, plus two village-pattern additions — the Cross Inn up the hill at Heptonstall and the Dusty Miller at Mytholmroyd. We've left out the Robin Hood Inn at Pecket Well: some booking sites still list rooms there, but its own current website doesn't mention any, so we can't confirm it takes overnight guests.
Are Hebden Bridge's pubs with rooms dog-friendly at dinner, not just in the bar?
We can't promise that for any of the three. The White Lion welcomes dogs in its bar area and has four dog-friendly rooms with their own front doors, but it doesn't say whether dogs can sit in the 1657 restaurant. The Cross Inn welcomes dogs in the pub, though the Booking.com listing says no pets in the bedrooms. The Dusty Miller is listed as dog friendly by CAMRA, but we haven't found a policy for its rooms or restaurant. If your dog is part of the plan, ask about the dining room when you book.
