Pubs with Rooms in Keswick

A market town on Derwentwater, ringed by fells, with one of the Lake District's liveliest town centres.

Keswick sits on the northern shore of Derwentwater, ringed by Skiddaw and the fells of the north-western Lakes — one of the busiest and most walker-friendly town centres in the National Park, built around a cobbled Market Square and the 17th-century Moot Hall at its centre.

The Royal Oak sits right on Main Street in the town centre, a short walk from everything. The Twa Dogs Inn is on the edge of town, a ten-minute walk from the centre at the foot of Latrigg. Out at Braithwaite, a couple of miles west, the Ruddings trades town-centre bustle for a quieter village setting under Skiddaw.

Keswick has no railway station of its own — the nearest is Penrith, about 18 miles away on the West Coast Main Line, with a regular bus connecting the two. Most visitors arrive by car.

Questions people ask about Keswick

Which pubs with rooms in Keswick have parking?
The Ruddings, out at Braithwaite, has its own car park. We haven't confirmed parking for the Royal Oak or the Twa Dogs Inn yet.
What counts as a "pub with rooms" in Keswick?
We only list places that are genuinely pubs first — a bar you could walk into for a pint, not just a hotel that happens to serve food. Keswick has plenty of hotels that serve food; we've stuck to places that are pubs first, including one out at Braithwaite that trades the town centre for a quieter village setting.
