Hunstanton is a seaside resort that faces west, looking across the Wash from a green above the beach, and it’s the usual starting point for the road east towards Brancaster and Wells. Our three pubs with rooms are in the villages just inland rather than on the seafront, which means a short drive to the beach rather than a stroll, but it also means proper village pubs rather than seaside hotels.

The Gin Trap Inn in Ringstead, about two and a half miles away, has two AA rosettes, five room types and three cottages, with dogs welcome in selected ones. The King William IV in Sedgeford, a Coaching Inn Group pub, welcomes dogs in its bar and charges £15 per room per night for up to two dogs in the rooms. The Rose & Crown in Snettisham has sixteen rooms, a Good Food Guide listing, two overnight EV chargers for guests, and dogs welcome in bedrooms for a small extra charge.

There’s no railway station in Hunstanton; the nearest is King’s Lynn, about 15 miles away, so most visitors arrive by car or on the Coasthopper bus along the coast road.

Questions people ask about Hunstanton

Which pubs with rooms near Hunstanton have parking?
Two of our three say so. The Gin Trap Inn in Ringstead has free parking at the front and back, and the King William IV in Sedgeford has a large car park on site. We haven't confirmed parking at the Rose & Crown in Snettisham.
What counts as a "pub with rooms" near Hunstanton?
A bar you could walk into for a pint, with bedrooms attached. All three of our pubs are village pubs between roughly 2.5 and 5 miles from Hunstanton, not seafront places. We've left out the town's hotels, which lean hotel rather than pub, and the Ancient Mariner in Old Hunstanton, whose accommodation is self-catering lodges rather than rooms above the bar.
Which pubs with rooms near Hunstanton are dog-friendly?
All three take dogs in at least some rooms. The King William IV charges £15 per room per night for up to two dogs and says dogs are welcome in its bar; the Rose & Crown allows up to two dogs per room for a small charge it doesn't publish; the Gin Trap says dogs are welcome in selected rooms and cottages, without saying more.
