Wroxham and its neighbour Hoveton are the best-known boating hub on the Norfolk Broads, where the Bure runs under a road bridge and the shops and boatyards face one another across the water. Genuine pubs with rooms are thinner on the ground in the town itself, so the three pubs on this page are spread around it, between three and four miles away — each one’s village and distance is given on its page.
They are the Rising Sun at Coltishall, a riverside pub on the Bure with four rooms and wood-fired pizza; the Recruiting Sergeant at Horstead, with five double rooms and a speciality in fresh fish; and the Lodge at Salhouse, six rooms in a former vicarage. All three publish their dog policy clearly, and the Rising Sun and the Lodge each list a modest per-stay fee for dogs in the rooms.
If a dog is the priority, the Rising Sun is the most straightforward. Wroxham has its own railway station on the Bittern Line, but all three pubs are a drive or taxi ride from it.
Further east, about 13 miles away near Acle, the Kings Arms at Fleggburgh has garden lodges and boutique bedrooms — too far to list as a Wroxham pub, but its own page has the details.
Not in Wroxham itself, but close enough to stay — the town's shops, pubs and sights are only a short trip in from any of these.
