Haworth is the village the Brontës made famous, and the way in is up a cobbled Main Street steep enough to have its own reputation. The parsonage where the sisters wrote sits at the top, beside the church and the Black Bull — the pub their brother Branwell is said to have drunk in.

Three pubs with rooms are on or just off that street: the Old White Lion, a 14-room coaching inn at the top by West Lane; the Fleece Inn, a Timothy Taylor’s pub with 10 rooms further down; and the Black Bull, with 4 rooms right beside the church. Between them they cover very different stays, and very different attitudes to dogs.

That last point is the one to check: only the Fleece takes dogs in a bedroom, and the Black Bull and Old White Lion don’t, so a trip with a dog narrows to one choice here, with the moors, Top Withens and the Brontë Way on the doorstep. Haworth has a heritage steam-railway station and local buses to Keighley’s mainline station, about 4 miles away.

Questions people ask about Haworth

Which pubs with rooms in Haworth have parking?
Parking is the awkward part of staying in Haworth, because Main Street is steep and cobbled. The Old White Lion says parking is available "for most" on site, first come first served, with pay-and-display close by if not. The Black Bull offers free parking for hotel guests. The Fleece Inn doesn't have its own car park, and its Booking.com listing points to public parking nearby at £4.50 a day.
What counts as a "pub with rooms" in Haworth?
A bar you could walk into for a pint, with rooms attached — the Old White Lion Hotel (14 rooms), the Fleece Inn (10) and the Black Bull (4). We've held back the Haworth Old Hall Inn: a tourist-board listing mentions en-suite B&B rooms, but we couldn't confirm the room count or dog policy, and CAMRA lists it without accommodation.
Are Haworth's pubs with rooms dog-friendly?
Only one takes dogs overnight. The Fleece Inn has a dog-friendly bedroom and welcomes dogs through virtually all of the pub. The Black Bull says on its own website it can't take dogs in the bedrooms, though CAMRA lists dogs as welcome in the bar but not the food areas. The Old White Lion's own site doesn't mention dogs; its booking-site listings say no pets, so treat it as a no unless the hotel tells you otherwise.
