Pubs with Rooms Near Holkham Hall and Beach
Pubs with rooms around the Holkham estate on the north Norfolk coast, from the hotel at the park gates to Burnham Market and Wells, with dog policy checked.
Last reviewed October 2026.
Holkham Hall and its beach are one of the best-known stretches of the north Norfolk coast, and the nearest pubs with rooms are a short drive in either direction. The Victoria sits at the gates of the park itself; the Burnham villages and Wells are a few miles along the coast road.
Distances are straight-line map estimates from the hall, not driving distances, and the beach is a little further north than the hall. We haven’t visited. Holkham is popular, so rooms fill up well ahead, and dog policies differ between neighbouring pubs, so check each page before you book.

Questions people ask
Which pub is closest to Holkham Hall?
The Victoria at Holkham is on the Holkham estate, at the gates of Holkham Park and close to the beach, about 1.4 miles from the hall in a straight line. It has 20 rooms, with dogs allowed in each room (£15 a night, per the estate) and welcome at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Burnham Market pubs are about 2 miles away and the two Wells pubs about 3.
Are there dog-friendly pubs with rooms for a Holkham beach weekend?
Yes. Holkham beach is popular with dog walkers, and the Victoria, the Hero at Burnham Overy Staithe (all three rooms dog friendly), the Globe in Wells (most rooms, £25) and the Hoste Arms (£25 a night) all take dogs in the rooms. Each pub's page has its own policy, and the beach itself can have seasonal rules, so check before you go.
How do you get to these pubs without a car?
Wells and the Burnham villages have no railway station. The nearest main-line stations are King's Lynn and Sheringham, both a long way off, and a coastal bus service runs along the coast road. Most visitors drive.
