A bit of history
Converted from a Midland Bank branch into a Fuller's Ale & Pie house in the early 1990s (CAMRA says 1993, the pub's own history page says 1994); its nine bedrooms upstairs opened in 2018-19 after a refurbishment.

- Local legend: CAMRA's listing says the pub is named after the 'famous Blackbird Pie' of the nursery rhyme Sing a Song of Sixpence, which suits a pub that sells pies.
